Building on ROCK or SAND?

There is so much misunderstanding today, especially among Christians, concerning God’s role in natural disasters.  I am convinced that God does not send calamity to punish or destroy.  Remember, when Jesus was refused entrance into a town in Samaria, the disciples expected Him to send fire from heaven to consume them.  But instead, “He turned and rebuked them saying, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.  For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them (Luke 9:55–56).

In the world you will have TROUBLE!

John 16:33  33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation (trouble); but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (NKJV)

That’s why it is of absolute importance to be IN CHRIST and have CHRIST IN US (Col. 1:27)!

The whole CREATION is groaning in pains of childbirth!

So, why are fires, calamities, and natural disasters of all sorts hitting our country and countries around the world?  First of all, God isn’t sending them, but HE IS SPEAKING THROUGH THEM in order to save men’s lives.  But it’s obvious that the lost sons of Adam do not have spiritual ears to hear and understand what He is speaking.  So, the creation which is under a curse because of Adam’s disobedience is in process of physically birthing the Sons of God who will reclaim the authority over the earth which Adam lost.  Adam’s lost authority can only be reclaimed by born-again children of God who will take their Kingdom authority over the cursed earth, including the weather and all other physical phenomenon when it gets out of Godly order.

Romans 8:18–22  18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.  19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God20 For the creation was subjected to futility (mataiŏtēs - uselessness, without purpose—powerless to change it), not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. Building on SAND, rather than the ROCK—Christ Jesus!

Did you see the video in the news showing the collapse of the 33-story building in Bangkok, Thailand as a result of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake which struck central Myanmar on March 28, 2025?  As I watched in horror, the Lord spoke to me that the problem was not the structure, but the foundation upon which it was built.  It’s notable that only 1.2% of Thailand's population are Christians.  Clearly, the curse is proceeding virtually unhindered in Thailand and other countries who are continually building their lives on the foundation of SAND—bound by demonic lies, fallen fleshly thoughts and ideas, and dead religious traditions, rather than the ROCKTruth and freedom of Christ Jesus (Ps. 18:2, 1 Cor. 10:4).

Matthew 7:24–27  24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the ROCK: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and IT DID NOT FALL, for it was founded on the ROCK.  26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the SAND: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and IT FELL.  And GREAT WAS ITS FALL.” (NKJV)

Do you really understand what SAND is?  Sand is anything and everything that is NOT of GOD!  It is anything that has its origin in the demonic and/or fleshly realm that tries to present itself as TRUTH.  It is that which appeals to the flesh rather than the Spirit.  If it’s NOT OF FAITH; it is SIN (Rom. 14:3)

It “feels good” to the mind and intellect.  SAND tries to resemble strong and righteous foundations, especially when it becomes passed down as religious traditions—“It must be right because we have always done it this way!”
